Monfort business plan contest up for grabs

They say the odor that permeates Greeley is the smell of money. Now’s your chance to grab some beef baron cash to launch your startup.

The Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado is hosting its third annual Entrepreneurial Challenge. The total purse is $36,000 with the top team garnering a cool $18,000.

Budding entrepreneurs may attend an information session Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at UNC’s satellite campus at Centerra, 2915 Rocky Mountain Ave, Loveland, CO. Map.

Contest applications are due Nov. 14.

2011 competition winners include VetDC, a firm that reverse engineers human healthcare treatments and technologies for seriously ill companion animals, bamboo-built Panda Bicycles, the home pest extermination system Bedbug Boxes, an environmentally-friendly airport shuttle service Greenride Colorado, and a senior counseling and care management services.
